Week 25: Weather continues to play havoc with fixtures

For the fourth weekend in succession, postponements due to adverse weather have plagued the North Caledonian FA fixture card, with the Quarter Finals of the North Caledonian Cup continuing to face delays and the outcome of the league campaign still to be determined.

Measures are now being put in place to ensure that the season is completed on time. The remaining Caithness derby between Thurso and Halkirk United will be played on the midweek date Wednesday, February 26th, while Halkirk and Golspie Sutherland have also been scheduled in for a midweek date of Wednesday, March 18th.

Orkney, who have played the least amount of league games, will undertake the tough challenge of playing two matches on the same day, on March 14th, playing Bunillidh away from home, and Bonar Bridge in Orkney - such is their extent of their backlog due to failed sailings and postponements.

To ensure that all outstanding games are played, and in a bid to avoid further fixture congestion, dates for all of the remaining fixtures shall be announced on a week to week basis by the league until completion.
