NCFA President's Message
Congratulations to Loch Ness FC who clinched the league title last weekend and today will see them presented with the Macleod & MacCallum League. Championship Trophy. This is their first piece of North Caledonian silverware and it’s a fantastic achievement to come out on top of what has been a very competitive and exciting league.
Well done to all the players, management and committee of Loch Ness and enjoy the celebrations.
As the league season is now drawing to a close ,I will take this opportunity to offer a few thanks. Firstly, to all of our competition sponsors whose help is greatly valued and appreciated by the association, as without them our job would be much more difficult.
I would also like to thank all the club committees and volunteers out there who all work hard in the background to ensure their teams make it onto the park every Saturday and now some Wednesday nights!
Thanks also to our colleagues from the North of Scotland Referees Association who go above and beyond to ensure our games have match officials each week. Despite the moans and groans most weeks we all appreciate your efforts and expertise.
Final few thanks must go to my fellow office bearers, namely Niall Harkiss, Euain Penny and most importantly our secretary Sandy Stephen who takes on the majority of the work to ensure the season runs smoothly.
Last but by no means least, thanks to Brian Mackay who keeps the social media channels updated on match days.
I’ll sign off with a reminder of that our season will conclude on Sat 29th April with the North Caley Cup Final in Golspie, with Golspie Sutherland taking on Invergordon.
It should be a good one and we will be having a charity gate, so hopefully many of you can come along to lend your support to that.
Yours in sport,
Iain Whitehead - NCFA President
